A.Adam’s ballet Le Corsaire staged by People’s Artist of Russia, Artistic Director of the Astana Opera Ballet Company Altynai Asylmuratova will be a wonderful present for the 20th anniversary of Astana and an offering to the great choreographer Marius Petipa, whose 200th anniversary of the birth the whole world celebrates.

Loosely based on the eponymous poem by Lord Byron, Le Corsaire keeps its romantic elevation, freedom-loving spirit and strong passion. A plot that came from the real life of sea robbers - corsairs and has a place for love, treachery, ridiculous tricks of a greedy merchant, as well as Le jardin animé romantic scenes always go down well with the public.

This pearl of classical ballet repertoire graces the stages of all well-known theatres in the world, since it allows artists to make a brilliant display of both ballet technique and dramatic talent in all the parts.

The ballet to the music of Adolphe Charles Adam with the libretto (after G.Byron) by J.Saint-Georges and J.Mazilier will be presented by:
