Dialogue Between Musical Epochs
The Gaziza Zhubanova State String Quartet, a well-known Kazakhstani ensemble, is to amaze the guests of the capital city and devoted music lovers with a new concert programme. Josef Haydn described a string quartet as “A dialogue between four very intelligent people who have something to say”. We invite music lovers and guests of the capital to listen to the fascinating conversation of brilliant musicians of the renowned Gaziza Zhubanova State String Quartet.
The concert will feature graceful and life-affirming music of the Austrian classical composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Hugo Wolf’s expressive and dance-like Italian Serenade, as well as Dmitri Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 5, composed in autumn 1952 and including, like composer’s other works, the DSCH monogram (notes, denoted by the Latin letters, which make up the initials of the composer, i.e. “D.Sch”: D, E flat, C, B natural).
