Grand Opening of the International Festival

“Astana - Alem Daussy”

On October 5, 2018, as part of the 6th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, the grand opening of the International Festival “Astana - Alem Daussy” will take place. The Chamber Choir of the State Academic Philharmonic of Astana City Akimat will perform in the Astana Opera Chamber Hall.

The Choir, created in 2004, has frequently won awards at international competitions, which among others included: two gold medals of the Global Choral Festival and Competition “World Choir Games” (Latvia, 2014), Grand Prix of the International Festival of Creative Youth “Shabyt 2014” (Astana), Grand Prix of the International Competition “Zhubanov’s Spring 2012” (Aktobe); Grand Prix of the 30th International Festival of Orthodox Church Music “Hajnówka” (Poland, Bialystok, 2011); two Gold Cups of the World Choral Forum in Beijing (China, 2011), Grand Prix of the “Astana – An Kanatynda” Festival (Astana, 2008) and others.

The wide-ranging repertoire of the Choir includes works from national and world classics.

 

Artistic Director and Conductor: Gulmira Kuttybadamova.

The concert programme will feature arrangements of songs of the Turkic peoples and works by Kazakh, Russian and West European classical composers.
