Tour to Lake Son-Kul

From 29th of December till 2nd of January — 5 days / 4 nights – trip starts and finishes in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

Experience a one-in-a-lifetime New Year Party at Son Kul lake in Kyrgyzstan. During these 5 magical days, you will hike a red canyon, enjoy horseback riding to the remote farms of Kilemche valley, meet with Kyrgyz shepherds living up there all year round, hike with snowshoes to the majestic frozen Song Kul lake and meet 2019 in an unique winter yurt, lost in the Kyrgyz wilderness, with the finest food and funniest activities!

Accommodation 
In Kyzart, shared room and comfortable Kyrgyz beds. We sleep Inside a shared yurt at Son Kul. Beds are made of foam mattresses and toshoks, the traditional Kyrgyz bed, made out of layers of stuffed carpets guaranteeing insulation and basic comfort. Blankets are provided. The yurt is permanently heated and insulated, the temperature is nice inside the yurt.

Hygiene
No showers! Toilets are outside latrines. Hot water on demand and washbasin at disposal for basic hygienic procedures.

Meals
Picnic in the mountains during the hiking activities.
All the other meals are taken at our hosts places.
For New Year’s Eve and New Year’s day, a special party menu is designed, with qualitative refined products, including smoked salmon, party lamb, caviar, blinis, different salads, fruits, kyrgyz pastries, kyrgyz champagne and of course, vodka with pickles.

Weather
During wintertime, days are mostly sunny, temperature at Son Kul lake during the sunny days is around -10/-15°C. If the weather is bad, temperature will be around -15/-20°C, but the feeling is colder. During the night, temperature can drop to -35°C. The cold is dry, and therefore pretty easy to handle with, and physical activities will keep you warm.
