In Unity of Strings and Inspiration

On 24 January at 7.00 pm, “In Unity of Strings and Inspiration” concert will take place in the Chamber Hall of the Astana Opera House.

The concert will feature the Volta String Quartet (France) and People’s Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan Jania Aubakirova (piano).

The basic repertoire of the Volta Quartet consists of works by composers of the Classical period and early Romantic era such as J.Haydn, W.A.Mozart, L.Beethoven and F.Schubert. Each member of the Quartet has a long-term performing experience in chamber music concerts, and their strong creative friendship as well as the desire to play music together have led to the creation of the Volta String Quartet in 2014.

All the Quartet musicians are winners of prestigious international competitions (Paris, Bordeaux, Genoa, London, Siena, Florence, Illzach, Heerlen, etc), who were applauded by audiences of the world’s prestigious concert halls. Having dedicated the 2014/2015 season to the last quartets by Schubert, the musicians recorded the album with Mozart’s String Quartets in 2016.

All the participants of the Quartet are members of the Artie's creative association founded on the initiative of Gauthier HERRMANN, which aims at reviving of classical music system both in France and abroad, and increasing social responsibility of artists.

People’s Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Laureate of the State Prizes of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Graduated from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory (class of Professor L.Vlasenko) as well as completed her postgraduate studies there.

She won the Grand Prix and a special prize of The Marguerite Long International Piano Competition “For the Best Performance of Contemporary French Composers’ Works” (France, 1983) and the Grand Prix of the International Competition of Chamber Ensembles (The Long-Thibaud Competition, France, 1985). She is Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters of France (1998).

She gives concerts all over the world and has performed in prestigious concert halls such as Salle Pleyel, Salle Gaveau, Barbican Hall, Wigmore Hall, Vigoda Hall, Konzerthaus Berlin, the Main Hall of the Moscow Conservatory etc.

She has been collaborating with many famous orchestras and musicians such as V.Gergiev, M.Pletnev, A.Sladkovsky, D.Geringas, the Mariinsky Symphony Orchestra, the French Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Russian National Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of India and others. Since 1997, she has been Rector of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory.
