“Echoes of Mukam”

(Dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Kuddus Kuzhamyarov)

The concert “Echoes of Mukam” will feature works by the Kazakhstani composers (Balnur Kydyrbek, Bakir Bayakhunov, Khabibulla Setekov, Serikzhan Abdinurov and Alibi Abdinurov) - students of the People’s Artist of the USSR, Soviet and Kazakhstani composer, teacher, public figure, founder of the Uyghur professional music, Kuddus Kuzhamyarov, whose 100th  anniversary of the birth the musical community of the republic celebrates.

Kuddus Kuzhamyarov (1918-1994) graduated from the Alma-Ata Conservatory, and then undertook a training course at the Moscow Conservatory (class of Professor V.Shebalin).

During his long creative life, Kuzhamyarov showed himself as a bright leader and public figure. He was the artistic director of the Kazakh Radio (1952), and rector of the Alma-Ata Kurmangazy Conservatory. During his tenure as the professor and head of the composition department of the Conservatory (1953-1994), he brought up a whole galaxy of the Kazakhstani composers.
