Kanat Islam is one of the few athletes who manage with each fight to increase only the number of victories.
Kanat started boxing, following his older brother's example. He began training at the age of 13, and at 16 he had already won the championship of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and joined her team. With his achievements in 2004, he knocked out a ticket to the 2004 Olympic Games but failed to reach the finals because he lost to Ruslan Khairov. From year to year, the results of Kanat Islam were getting better. He took bronze at the 2006 Asian Games, as he did at the 2007 World Boxing Championships in Chicago.
In 2009, Kanat decided to come to his historic homeland, Kazakhstan, despite the fact that his citizenship would prevent him from performing at the London Olympics. That's what pushed Kanat to leave amateur to professional boxing in 2012. To date, he's had 26 fights, 21 of which ended in a knockout from his rivals.
For several years Kanat has been working with Egis Klimas in 2017, who was voted "Best Manager" by The Ring magazine.
